Hi there,
interesting clips. I'll say this comment with no harm intended.
the energy of taijiquan is different then most other martial arts, also the expression of that energy.
it is fine to explore and cross train with other internal /external methods. but just because u use a technigue from another martial art does not mean u are using the particular energy that is inherant in said martila art. So it's not as easy to mix and match as most people would think IT IS.
THAT'S NOT TO SAY HOWEVER,THAT IT CAN'T BE USED EFFECTIVELY. In most cases of self defense we revert back to what is truly natural for us to defend ourselves with; that usually comes from changing our body/mind/spirit to attune to our respective arts. Yet, even this is not written in stone for all people.
I guess that's onew reason why martial arts have so much to offer us and challenge us with.peace, power, and luv. taichibulldog
